Morbid or Grateful during COVID?
It is one time zone of our lives we will always remember but wouldn't want to return to, ever. Most certainly, the modern times would be known as a time before and after the new- Corona Virus 19 or nCOVID 19 outbreak. This pandemic which by now has made millions sick, thousands dead and another millions under lockdown in their own homes across the globe has not been witnessed by anyone since the last century.
The lockdown means many different things to numerous people. To the frontline health workers, it means endless hours of taking care of the patients, covering themselves in layers and layers of personal protective equipments ( PPEs) and staying away from their families for their safety..
For the sanitation workers, it means sanitizing each and every nook and corner of the public places, time and again so that the premises doesn't turn to be a prospective hotbed of virus transmission. For the policeforce, it varies between manning the empty roads, neighbourhoods and enforcing safety of the citizens to providing relief to anyone in distress. The list of people serving the citizens continues. The administrators, the grocers, the security personnels, the delivery personnels, the pharmacists, the essential service providers etc.
For people who are working from home, it seems to be a never-ending day despite staying at home all day! However, many are doing things differently- handling home without any external help - working online and baby sitting / homeschooling, cleaning, cooking, fixing, washing - onsite! We, as a global community are learning some harsh lessons as well- as some life-changing, positive practices.
# We let nature reclaim it's glory! The birds returned and so did the water level of the rivers. The cleaner and purer air got us to appreciate the little joys of life. Having one's family safe and symptom-free made us grateful for having them around. Working remotely from home meant that we at least had a job !
So,what are you during this lockdown? Morbid or grateful?
